Our Design Approach to: Bathrooms
At VIQ Architecture, we approach bathroom design as a fusion of functionality, luxury, and tranquility. We create spaces that serve as personal sanctuaries, balancing rich materiality, sculptural forms, and seamless layouts to enhance daily rituals. Whether designing a spa-like retreat or an elegant powder room, we emphasize intuitive organization, refined finishes, and carefully curated lighting to ensure both beauty and practicality. From natural stone and warm woods to sleek metals and glass, each design is tailored to elevate the experience of everyday living, transforming the bathroom into a serene and timeless extension of the home.
LIGHTING & MIRROR
Above the vanity hangs a rounded rectangular mirror with a slim black frame. Its elegant simplicity complements the faucet and other dark elements in the space. Flanking the mirror are two dome-shaped sconces in a matte white finish, providing soft, diffused lighting. The symmetry of the sconces and mirror anchors the vanity area, creating a cohesive and polished look.​
VANITY & COUNTERTOP
The floating vanity features a clean, minimalist design with vertical ribbed detailing on its front panels. Its crisp white finish enhances the room’s bright and airy ambiance. The integrated countertop supports a sleek, white vessel sink with smooth, rounded edges, adding a sculptural element to the design. This focal point creates a striking contrast with the matte black wall-mounted faucet, whose minimalist silhouette provides a bold accent against the light background.​
FLOORING
The flooring features smooth, light-toned tiles that create a cohesive and seamless foundation for the space. The subtle color of the tiles enhances the room’s brightness while providing durability and practicality.
WALL DESIGN
The wall behind the vanity is adorned with soft blush-hued tiles featuring a delicate geometric pattern. These tiles add a playful yet sophisticated texture to the space, introducing subtle depth and visual interest. The gentle pastel tones maintain the room’s serene and calming ambiance while enhancing its contemporary flair.
SHOWER
To the left of the vanity, a walk-in shower is enclosed by sleek, black-framed glass doors. The black grid design of the enclosure adds a modern, industrial edge to the otherwise soft and refined space. Frosted and textured glass panels allow privacy while maintaining the room’s open and airy feel.

Flanking the mirror are two pendant lights with frosted glass globes suspended from matte black cords. These minimalist light fixtures provide a warm, diffused glow, creating a cozy yet functional ambiance. The positioning of the lights frames the mirror perfectly, enhancing the symmetry of the design while adding a contemporary touch.
VANITY & COUNTERTOP
The floating vanity is the focal point of the room, crafted from rich, natural wood with a warm grain pattern that adds depth and texture. Its sleek, handleless design emphasizes simplicity and elegance. The countertop, made from light natural stone, features subtle veining that complements the wood’s warmth. A black matte vessel sink sits prominently atop the counter, its sculptural form adding a striking contrast to the light surface below.
FLOORING & ADJACENT WALLS
The terrazzo motif extends to the flooring, tying the room together and adding a playful yet sophisticated element. On the adjacent wall, vertical wooden slats offer a striking contrast to the terrazzo, adding warmth and rhythm to the space. The combination of these materials creates a dynamic interplay between smooth, textured, and natural surfaces.
MIRROR & WALL DESIGN
The central mirror is framed in matte black with wooden side panels that echo the vanity’s material, creating a cohesive look. Behind the vanity, the wall features a terrazzo-style finish with speckled detailing, introducing texture and visual interest. This backdrop complements the modern aesthetic while subtly referencing natural materials.
GLASS PARTITION
A sleek, black-framed glass partition separates the vanity area from the shower or adjoining space, reinforcing the minimalist design and allowing light to flow freely. The thin black lines of the partition add a graphic quality that balances the organic warmth of the wood and stone.
FREESTANDING BATHTUB
At the center of the space is a sculptural, freestanding oval bathtub in pristine white. Its sleek, minimalist design anchors the room, exuding a sense of serenity and elegance. Positioned against a built-in shelving unit, the tub is perfectly placed for relaxing moments while surrounded by curated accessories and soft lighting.
FLOORING & ACCESORIES
The flooring is finished in large-format white stone tiles with subtle veining, contributing to the room’s cohesive and elegant look. A small wooden cube, placed near the bathtub, serves as a functional and stylish accessory for holding towels or bath products. Its warm wood tone contrasts beautifully with the clean white surfaces.

To the side of the vanity, a spacious walk-in shower is enclosed by frameless glass panels, maintaining the room’s open and seamless flow. The shower features floor-to-ceiling stone walls with subtle veining, adding texture and elegance. Built-in lighting within the shower highlights the materials, while minimalist brass fixtures provide both function and beauty.

The double vanity is crafted with textured wood cabinetry in a deep gray tone, adding warmth and depth to the space. The clean-lined countertop is finished in smooth white stone, enhancing the room’s polished aesthetic. Above the vanity, two large rectangular mirrors with thin, golden frames reflect light, creating an airy and open atmosphere. Flanking the mirrors are modern, cylindrical sconces with a matte gold finish, offering soft and ambient lighting that highlights the luxurious materials.
